So I got the best chard I’ve ever had, plus a bag of also awesome spinach, at the farmer’s market on Saturday. Only problem? Both bags of greens are sort of infested with slugs…

Actually, it’s only a problem if you mind that sort of thing. Which I don’t, because at least I know my yummy [...]

Back from my travels! Thanks for the comments on my boobie cookies… Maybe I should make anatomically correct treats more often!
Lisbon was gorgeous. My mom was there for a business thing, so I flew out to meet her for the end of her stay. It was exactly the warm and sunny antidote I needed to [...]

If you haven’t been over to yeahthatveganshit lately, you might have missed the fact that Lindy Loo is holding a little contest — a Nippular Cookbook Contest, to be exact. Our lovely contest hostess has a few extra cookbooks to give away, and they go to the best set of nips and/or boobies (made out [...]

Eggplant Bake

17Apr09

I haven’t posted any yummies this week, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been making yummies! I made a terrific bean and corn soup based on my mom’s old ham and bean soup recipe. No ham, and all the better for it…
But I didn’t get a chance to take a picture before it was all [...]

… because who doesn’t need a little extra fiber this time of year?
I made this bean dip for two reasons. (1) I wanted to give Gary a protein source that would last him through the week. (2) I forgot I was cooking butter beans on the stove and they got overly mushy.

Joe was my taste-tester, [...]

Since I’ve been upping my running mileage, I have also been upping my snackage… I came home from a 4.5 mile run yesterday morning and knew I wouldn’t make it til lunch unless I had some serious sustenance. Cue The Little Blender That Couldn’t.
Yesterday he actually did the job quite well. If you give him [...]

So it might seem boring, but I’m pretty proud of myself for overcoming one of the challenges in cooking for one. Instead of slicing off chunks of the same vegetables every day this week, I used them all at once and made a big pot of food.

Super easy eggplant yumminess: Saute garlic in olive oil, [...]

oh gosh…

05Apr09

Someone found my blog by searching “oh gosh”. Just putting it out there.

We didn’t even plan it that way. I just threw out the invite, and people turned it into a vegetarian extravaganza. Love it.
The potluck was supposed to a be an outdoor picnic, but Dublin weather wasn’t really on our side. So it became a dinner event, which gave us a little more room to play [...]

Falafel Night!

04Apr09

Fried foods — perfect for Friday nights, right? Last night I made falafels for Gary and myself. He was skeptical of how they would turn out (even though I was using mix from a box… not that complicated…) but they were fabulous. He licked his plate, went back for seconds, and licked his plate again. [...]
