Tagged!
I have been tagged by the lovely Fionnuala of Basil Exposition. And no, I will not be sharing the insides of my fridge — actually makes that fridges; we’ve got two in order to accommodate the whole lot of us. But rather than expose you to that messy abyss, I’ll be ushering you one step [...]

Raw Tuesday
So there is a pretty high incidence of raw food in my diet anyway, but just for the heck of it I’ve decided to devote a whole day every once in awhile. I know, what a cleanse. A whole day. But at least it makes me stop and think about my food… more than the [...]

Coconut Berry Oat Bars…
… also known as my afternoon snack 2-3 times a week. I know.
Seriously, these things somehow pull me off my route through Dublin, onto Exchequer Street, and into Cornucopia much more often than I’d like to admit. At least it’s a good excuse for tea with friends. Or wait, is tea with friends the excuse [...]

Indecisive Butternut Squash
This butternut squash couldn’t decide if he wanted to be sweet or savory. So he was both.
Cue original recipe, the result of much kitchen experimentation and a dash of weird craving!
To make Indecisive Butternut Squash, you will need the following (serves 2):
1 butternut squash
1/2 cup (when dry) black beans, cooked
1/4 cup (ditto) wheatberries, cooked
1/4 cup [...]

Cashew Mayo
A (half-eaten, sorry!) piece of walnut wholemeal bread from the Bretzel Bakery around the corner… perched in the skylight in my room, overlooking South Dublin. I love sunny days in Dublin!
I already mentioned the cashew mayo I made from the Cornucopia cookbook, but I thought it was worth revisiting because boy does this stuff get [...]

Coleslaw Reincarnate…
… as pad thai-ish?
So I made a ton of that coleslaw. As in, an entire head of cabbage was sacrificed. Which means that I have been eating coleslaw for every meal since, and it was pretty much the only meal in my foreseeable future… until I decided to recycle my leftovers. I added spinach, more [...]

Coleslaw!
So I thought the site needed a bit of a change-up… The design I chose five months ago (!) didn’t really match my aesthetic anymore (weird how much one’s tastes can change in such a short period), and I thought the transatlantic move occasioned some sort of mile-marker anyway. I’m happy with the new look. [...]

So, I’m loving getting back into writing about my food. It gets me thinking about my food, and I love thinking about food. Not more than I love eating food, though.
My dinner last night: I put together a couscous bowl with chickpeas, roasted red peppers, roasted pine nuts, cucumber, tomato, and raisins. Not gonna lie, [...]

Yes, we have internet. After nearly five weeks living in this house, we are connected to the world outside. I am, to say the least, relieved.
And I can’t think of a more perfect way to celebrate than to show you all a picture of the best meal I’ve made/eaten in a long time…
This was a [...]

Food from Dublin, finally.
We’ve got the internet! It’s not ours — we’re picking up someone’s and I’m not sure how long it’s going to last, so I’m trying to get this in… Just a few pictures for now!
Couscous with figs and mango chutney, spinach, and granary bread. This was a pleasant meal shared by four of the nine [...]
